Kenneth Skelton, MD, a pediatrician in Albertville, Ala., will retire and permanently close his practice on Dec. 5 after nearly 50 years of caring for children and families, according to an Oct. 6 Facebook post from the practice.
Over five decades, Dr. Skelton has cared for several generations of local families, according to the post. Many children he treated later brought in their own children and grandchildren.
The office is helping patients get copies of their medical records or transfer them to another physician, and it charges a small fee for printed copies. Families are being asked to arrange care with another pediatrician or provider before the office closes.
