Mednax makes way into radiology space through Radiology Alliance acquisition: 5 things to know

Sunrise, Fla.-based Mednax acquired Radiology Alliance in Nashville, Tenn., according to Yahoo! Finance.

Here are five things to know:

1.Radiology Alliance is the first radiology group to join Mednax.

2. Featuring 64 physicians and six clinical support staff, Radiology Alliance has been operating since 2001.

3. Radiology Alliance offers services including diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, women's imaging and nuclear medicine to hospitals and outpatient imaging centers spanning Tennessee.

4. All Radiology Alliance physicians are board certified and have training in fields such as interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, oncology imaging and women's imaging.

5. Mednax expects the transaction to be immediately accretive to its earnings. The company did not disclose any further details pertaining to the deal
