Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare’s ASC arm, HCA Surgery Ventures, is one of the largest players in the industry.
At the end of 2025, the company operated 150 surgical centers, placing it in the top five.

2025
- Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare doubled down on outpatient growth in 2025 with the addition of about 100 facilities to its outpatient lines.
- HCA Healthcare reported $75.6 billion in total revenue from 2025, an increase of $5 billion from 2024.
- Shaun Cartwright, who took over as COO of HCA Healthcare’s ASC division, Surgery Ventures, is eyeing a new wave of ASC growth at the company.
2024
- In the fourth quarter of 2024, outpatient revenue accounted for 37.9% of total patient revenue for HCA.
- The company’s ASC strategy in 2024 was driven by “greenfield developments,” new facility constructions, along with targeted acquisitions.
- By 2030, Sam Hazen, HCA’s CEO, said that he expects each of the company’s hospitals to have an average of 17 to 20 outpatient facilities.
2023
- HCA reported a net income of $5.24 billion in 2023 and its ASCs completed 1,044,415 surgical cases in 2023.
- In the first quarter of 2023, total outpatient procedures jumped 5% and outpatient cardiology procedures increased 7%, and the company continued to invest in its outpatient footprint.
