Dubbed the Bearwood Ambulatory Surgery Center, the acquisition includes the building and the surrounding 4 acres, the university announced April 22.
The property will be used in support of the university’s programs in nursing and physical therapy. The operating room environment will “enhance Anderson students’ experience further,” and other parts of the building will be redesigned to include classrooms and laboratories.
The physicians who owned the center, which offered general surgery, plastic surgery and hand surgery before closing, gave the university the property through a partial gift.
