7 hospitals, health systems opening or planning ASCs — October 2016

Here are seven hospitals and health systems that have announced plans for ASCs.

Winchester, Va.-based Valley Health broke ground on its new $6.2 million ASC on Oct. 28, 2016.

In the coming months, the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board will decide whether to approve Elgin, Ill.-based Advocate Sherman Hospital's plans to build an ASC on its campus.

The Athens (Ala.) Planning Commission approved preliminary plans for the Athens-Limestone Hospital to construct a surgery center.

Dallas-based Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children broke ground on its new ambulatory care center in Frisco, Texas.

Dayton Children's is opening a new specialty care center that includes an outpatient surgery center in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Los Angeles-based Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center is building an outpatient center, equipped with an ASC, to meet growing demand for surgical services in Pasadena, Calif.

Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health completed its Park Avenue Medical Center in Trumbull, Conn., which houses an ambulatory surgery endoscopy center.
