As ASCs and outpatient care shift towards the center of organizational growth strategies, joint ventures and partnerships between hospitals, health systems, ASCs, physicians and management groups are becoming more common.
Here are four outpatient joint ventures or partnerships shaping the industry, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Wilmington, Del.-based ChristianaCare and Newark-based Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware formed a joint venture to open a new cardiovascular-focused ASC in Newark, Del. The nearly 9,000-square-foot facility will provide services including diagnostic heart catheterizations, coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, ablation procedures and pacemaker/implantable defibrillator implantations .
2. Coeur d’Alene, Idaho-based Kootenai Health and Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare are set to break ground on a medical campus with an ASC. The Prairie Medical Campus in Post Falls, Idaho, will include a medical office building with an ASC, clinical offices, lab services and cardiology care.
3. Borland Groover will break ground on Emerald Coast Endoscopy Center, a new outpatient clinic and ASC in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. The Jacksonville, Fla.-based gastroenterology practice will break ground March 23, with the 16,000-square-foot facility slated to open in Summer 2027. The ASC will be jointly owned and operated by Borland Groover and Tenet’s United Surgical Partners International, marking the sixth surgery center the two organizations have partnered on.
4. Ascension St. Vincent’s and Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, both in Jacksonville, Fla., opened an ASC in St. Augustine, Fla. The new ASC is part of Ascension St. Vincent’s broader work investing in ASCs and physician partnerships.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
