U.S. Congresswoman Visits Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center

After visiting several healthcare facilities, including Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center, U.S. Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-Ore.) said she would likely sign the proposed bill to close the gap in Medicare reimbursement between ambulatory surgery centers and hospital outpatient departments, according to a report from The Lund Report.

At the ASC, Rep. Bonamici was able to speak with providers who talked about their experience at the center. She expressed concerns about pay parity for ASCs as well as mid-level providers and telemedicine visits.

The surgery center opened in 2005 and includes cataract surgeries, orthopedic surgeries and colonoscopies. Rep. Bonamici said she would likely sign House Bill 2500, according to the report.
