Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island open new location: 5 things to know

Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island opened a new practice in Glen Cove, N.Y.

Here are five things to know:

1. The group opened the Glen Cove location on April 1. Scott Verni, MD, joined the practice and is currently seeing patients at the new location.

2. Dr. Vermi, a cataract surgeon, has been in practice for more than 20 years and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

3. Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island is a multispecialty eye group with more than 30 eye physicians total and 13 medical facilities. The practice includes LASIK surgery and laser cataract surgery.

4. Dr. Vermi aims to provide individualized care to each patient at his new practice. He will work out of the Glen Cove and East Meadow locations.

5. After earning his medical degree at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., he underwent residency there followed by a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology under Arthur H. Wolintz, MD.
