North Cypress tops lists for stroke centers, bariatric surgery and orthopedics — 4 highlights

North Cypress Medical Center received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Stroke Centers, America’s Best Hospitals for Bariatric Surgery and America’s Best Hospitals for Orthopedics, according to Your Houston News.

Here are four highlights:

1. The evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that considers female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women say they want from a hospital.

2. America’s Best Stroke Centers has over 467 award winners that represent hospitals that have met the high standards of the Joint Commission, American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. Hospitals that have earned this award must first hold and Advanced or Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification.

3. America’s Best Hospitals for Bariatric Surgery has over 300 award winners that meet the high standards of The American College of Surgeons and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

4. America’s Best Hospitals for Orthopedics includes 426 award winners who have provided exceptional patient care and treatment and comprehensive orthopedic services, indicating a minimal number of arthroscopy, joint replacements and spine surgery services, as well as offering onsite MRI and physical therapy.
