Jefferson Surgery Center nurse honors US service members — 3 highlights

An operating room nurse at Jefferson Surgery Center – Washington Township (N.J.) participated in a ceremony honoring American veterans March 12.

Three highlights:

1. Carlos Vascos, BSN, RN, chairs the township’s Veterans Affairs Committee. To honor American prisoners of war and service members missing in action, the committee presented a commemorative chair at the township’s municipal building.

2. Mr. Vascos is chairperson of Jefferson Surgery Center’s Nursing Unit Council, as well as an infusion nurse for a home care company. He served as a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy.

3. He graduated from the Helene Fuld School of Nursing in New York City and the W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing in Trenton, N.J.
