Here are four things to know.
1. HR 2570, the Value Based Insurance Design for Better Care Act of 2015, directs HHS to develop a three-year demonstration program to test the use of value-based insurance methodologies.
2. The Electronic Health Fairness Act exempts ambulatory surgery center procedures from counting toward meaningful use requirements.
3. Senators Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) and Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) introduced the companion bill S 1347 in the Senate.
4. “We hope the Senate will follow suit in supporting independent gastroenterology practices by removing unfair provisions imposed by meaningful use requirements that hinder our ability to provide patients with quality, coordinated care,” said Scott R. Ketover, MD, president of the Digestive Health Physicians Association.
