Here are seven things to know:
1. Walgreens’ clinics will enhance care coordination for Advocate patients.
2. The clinics will also provide patients convenience and access.
3. Advocate will brand the clinics as Advocate Clinic at Walgreens and will open under Advocate in May 2016.
4. Advocate will offer walk-ins and same-day appointment scheduling.
5. The agreement strengthens Walgreens’ growth strategy for its retail clinics such as investing in its core business and expanding services.
6. Board-certified nurse practitioners will work in the clinics. Advocate Medical Group will train and supervise the nurse practitioners.
7. Walgreens’ 56 Healthcare Clinics will operate in Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties.
