The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care has released a guide to help ambulatory care organizations develop governance frameworks for AI use.
The “1095 Advance AI Governance Guide” provides tools for managing AI-related risks involving patient safety, privacy, bias, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, according to an Aug. 17 news release.
The guide focuses on four areas: governance and accountability, transparency and validation, data security and patient privacy, and human oversight.
Resources include an AI risk assessment, system inventory, vendor evaluation checklist, policy and procedure template, lifecycle management checklist and survey readiness checklist. It also includes case-based scenarios and questions aligned with the AAAHC’s AI accreditation standards.
The guide is available at no cost.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
