Around half of healthcare providers who don’t re-screen employee backgrounds, according to a First Advantage report.

The report is First Advantage’s inaugural Healthcare Provider Background Screening Pulse Survey. The survey shows:

• 50 percent of survey respondents don’t rescreen workers at all
• 19 percent rescreen employees annually
• 17 percent rescreen employees every two years
• 20 percent didn’t conduct child or elder abuse registry searches
• 89 percent perform OIG searches
• 74 percent handle searches internally
