Here are five highlights:
1. The contract enables Aetna’s 8.5 million Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and Coventry members to obtain in-network access to Tenet’s hospitals, physicians and outpatient centers.
2. Tenet and Aetna will focus on creating accountable care arrangements to give Aetna members high-quality care at affordable prices.
3. The terms of the agreement are effective starting Jan. 1, 2016.
4. Through the contract, two new Tenet Hospitals, Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health System and Tucson, Ariz.-based Carondelet Health Network, will be included in the partnership.
5. The partnership aims to help control healthcare costs and make way for more revenue generation.
