Here are four things to know:
1. Through the collaboration, the payers will offer Austin and Waco employers integrated healthcare products.
2. Seton Health Plan will offer insured and self-insured offerings to employees with 51 employees or more.
3. The products guide customers through a clinically integrated and cost-effective system of care created to enhance quality and patient outcomes. The products also aim to decrease duplication of services and get rid of unnecessary costs.
4. Cigna and Seton Health plan to make products available by the summer of 2016.
“This collaboration signals a fundamental shift in how organizations that finance and administer health plans engage with organizations that deliver healthcare,” said Mike Koehler, market president, Cigna South Texas. “If we expect to drive better health, affordability and experience for the customers we jointly serve, we need to put the customer at the center of all we do through deeper collaboration between payers and providers.
