SCODI Code Removed From CPT 2011 Codebook

The scanning computerized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging code (CPT 92135) has been removed from the CPT 2011 codebook, according to an AAPC release.

For 2011, coders should base SCODI service code selection on location, according to AAPC. For example:

For the front of the eye, report 92132 Scanning computerized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging, anterior segment, with interpretation and report, unilateral or bilateral.

For the optic nerve, report 92133 Scanning computerized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging, posterior segment, with interpretation and report, unilateral or bilateral; optic nerve.

For the retina, report 92134 Scanning computerized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging, posterior segment, with interpretation and report, unilateral or bilateral; retina.
