Researchers surveyed 104 healthcare organizations.
Here’s what you should know:
1. Seventy-five percent of respondents indicated they intended to expand patient access to their telehealth systems or expand the number of specialties offered.
2. Providers were concerned about several factors including:
- Available technology cost
- Integration
- Patient experience
- Reimbursement
- Value
3. Fifty percent of respondents said reimbursement was a hurdle to adaptation.
4. Healthcare organizations said EHR and virtual care platform vendor integration was either nonexistent or unidirectional.
5. KLAS President Adam Gale said, “Telehealth holds enormous promise. However, the underlying technology needs to evolve faster. In particular, integration of telehealth with provider EHRs is still at a primitive level. Vendors need to step up in terms of technology and improved support.”
