BCBS of Tennessee helps those impacted by wildfires with $25k donation: 4 points

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee donated $25,000 to help those affected by the state’s wildfires, according to The Tennessean.

Here are four points:

1. BCBS gave the donation to American Red Cross’ East Tennessee chapter.

2. Roy Vaughn, senior vice president and chief communications officer of BCBS of Tennessee, said many employees were interested in contributing personally, as well.

3. The payer told those employees wishing to contribute to donate online to the Red Cross or vetted charities.

4. Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters said the wildfires have killed a reported 13 people and destroyed more than 1,000 structures, according to ABC News.
