Three key points:

1. The deal affects Aetna’s Medicare Advantage members in western Pennsylvania.

2. The ACO is intended to improve care coordination, clinical performance, efficiency and costs for 17,000-plus Aetna Medicare members assigned to Bridges providers.

3. Bridges and Aetna will assemble a care management team tasked with proactively managing Medicare Advantage beneficiaries’ healthcare needs; improving patient experience, access to medical services and costs; and integrating inpatient and outpatient care teams.
