84% of US voters say officials should not repeal ACA without implementing alternative: 4 key points

Most Americans do not want officials to completely dismantle former President Barack Obama’s health law, especially without a viable alternative in place, a Hamden, Conn.-based Quinnipiac University poll found, according to McClatchy DC.

Here are four key points:

1. The poll found 84 percent of voters said Congress should not repeal the ACA until officials implement a replacement plan.

2. Sixteen percent of voters report believing Republicans should completely dismantle the law.

3. Fifty-one percent of voters say officials should forgo certain elements of the ACA.

4. Almost all voters (96 percent) said it is “very important” or “somewhat important” that all Americans can afford healthcare.
