Salt Lake City-based 3M Health Information Systems has launched a computer-assisted coding program for small and rural hospitals.
The 3M CAC System for Small Hospitals is designed as a Web-based program to help coders identify missing information in physician documentation. It also reduces the need to interface with an electronic health record for smaller systems with fewer IT resources.
The full product will be released in the fourth quarter of 2013. The system is an add-on to the 3M Coding and Reimbursement System.
