The Springfield Clinic in Illinois achieves AAAHC accreditation — 5 key notes

The Springfield (Ill.) Clinic underwent a successful Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care survey.

The survey is for three-year accreditation, and this is the 20th year The Springfield Clinic has achieved accreditation.

Here are five things to know:

1. The Springfield Clinic was founded in 1939 by five physician partners and was among the first multispecialty medical clinics in downstate Illinois.

2. There are more than 400 physicians and mid-level providers practicing at Springfield Clinic today.

3. The clinic’s network of care includes more than 20 medical offices, with around half in Springfield and the rest in the surrounding areas.

4. Randall A. Bryant is the CEO of Springfield Clinic. The board chairman of the group is Mark D. Greatting, MD, and orthopedic surgeon.

5. There are several specialties, including trauma work, orthopedics, gastroenterology and interventional cardiology.
