Joint Commission appoints Lisa Diehl Vandecaveye to general counsel — 5 key notes

The Joint Commission appointed Lisa Diehl Vandecaveye, JD, MBA, FACHE, to general counsel.

Here are five things to know:

1. The new appointment is effective immediately, as the previous general counsel, Harold J. Bressler, is retiring after 30 years.

2. Ms. Vandecaveye will oversee all legal issues for The Joint commission, The Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare and Joint Commission Resources.

3. Ms. Vandecaveye was senior vice president and chief corporate responsibility officer at Beaumont Health in Southfield, Mich. She was a member of the executive leadership team.

4. Her previous experience also includes serving as executive legal counsel for Botsford Health Care for 14 years.

5. Ms. Vandecaveye is an active member and fellow of the American Health Lawyers Association and served on the association’s board of directors for six years.
