Lincoln Trail District Health Department awarded national accreditation — 4 quick facts

The Lincoln Trail District Health Department in Elizabethtown, Ky., was accredited through the Public Health Accreditation Board, according to The Kentucky Standard

Here are four quick facts.

1. PHAB has accredited 220 health departments and 14 in Kentucky.

2. The accrediting body launched in 2011 and is jointly funded by the CDC and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

3. Sara Jo Best is Lincoln Trail District Health Department's public health director. She has worked at the department since 2002.

4. PHAB-trained site visitors evaluate health departments on compliance with standards and measure, and the accuracy of documentation submitted.
