Here are five things to know:
1. The program is part of Meridian Orthopedics and includes board-certified orthopedic surgeons as well as a dedicated joint program liaison and coordinator.
2. The program offers new approaches to hip and knee replacement care and encourages patients and families to participate in group activities, meals and special events.
3. The program also includes therapy and exercise in a group setting for patient support.
4. The Joint Commission on-site survey occurred in January and found the program was in compliance with their standards, including meeting care needs, infection prevention and control, leadership, protocol and medication management.
5. The program underwent voluntary certification that interviewed employees and physicians.
