AAAHC accredits Walgreens clinics: 5 key notes

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care granted Walgreens Healthcare Clinic re-accreditation, according to a Drug Store News report.

Here are five key notes:

1. The accreditation was renewed for the 400-plus Walgreens Healthcare Clinic locations across the United States.

2. The clinics are walk-in, retail clinics designed to provide outpatient treatment. Services include physicals, vaccinations, care for minor injuries, health screenings and diabetes management.

3. The AAAHC representatives evaluated Walgreens Healthcare Clinic providers in the clinical setting at a cross-section of locations. They also interviewed executive leadership and conducted patient surveys.

4. The accreditation is valid through Feb. 8, 2019.

5. The clinics also help manage skin and chronic conditions.
