1. Dr. Napierkowski joined Cleveland Clinic in 1997 and most recently served as chairman of the regional practice of anesthesiology.

2. He also served as department head of anesthesiology at Euclid Hospital for 10 years.

3. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and completed residency training at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

4. Dr. Napierkowski succeeds Mark Froimson, MD, as president. Also, Brian Parker, MD, vice chair of operations for the Anesthesiology Institute, will serve as interim chair of the regional practice of anesthesiology.
