She has also been named associate dean for health equity and inclusion. Dr. Green is an anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician at U of M. The Board of Regents appointed her after a national search.

The position was created to address healthcare gender and racial equality issues at the university. She has also found that blacks, women and low-income individuals have particularly large barriers to pain medication access.
