Atlanta-based anesthesia and pain management billing company MedNet has hired Brian Waltmann, MD, as its medical director and practice manager.
He will assist the company to help anesthesia and pain management practices develop workable practice models.
Dr. Waltmann has practiced anesthesiology, pain management and emergency medicine. He has also served as the medical director for several emergency departments and as an assistant professor of anesthesiology at the University of South Carolina.
In the 1990s, Dr. Waltmann began working on the business side of anesthesia and pain management. From 1999 to 2011 he performed anesthesiology administrative duties for North Fulton Anesthesia Associates and served as chief operating officer.
He completed residencies in trauma surgery, emergency medicine and anesthesia and pain management. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.
