ACG releases guideline on hepatic, mesenteric circulation disorders 

The American College of Gastroenterology published a clinical guideline on hepatic and mesenteric circulation disorders in The American Journal of Gastroenterology.

What you should know:

1. These disorders may contribute to a number of chronic conditions, including: 

  • Acute liver failure
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Noncirrhotic portal hypertension
  • Cirrhosis
  • Hepatocellular carcinoma

2. These disorders also contribute to complications related to existing chronic liver diseases. 

3. The guideline offers evidence-based recommendations around five common clinical challenges surrounding the disorders.
