Mothers want round the clock access to physicians: 5 points

A recent survey showed mothers want constant access to physicians, according to “Moms and Health Technology Survey.”

Here are five points:

1. Of those respondents, 100 percent said they would prefer 24/7 access to providers with 71 percent of moms saying they have lost more than two hours of their work or school day to take their child to a physician appointment.

2. Eighty-two percent of surveyed mothers said they are the most “health tech-savvy”
of their family members.

3. More than half (64 percent) said they find it difficult to take their children to physicians either during office hours or the school year. Seventy-nine percent said they would like to learn more about telemedicine as it pertains to dealing with a non-emergency medical problem.  

4. Fifty-four percent said online video interactions with a provider would make mothers more confident that they can deal with their child’s daily heath.

5. Of the surveyed mothers, 61 percent said health technology innovations would lead to enhanced overall health for their children.
