Payer vendor, TriZetto Provider Solutions, claims the ICD-10 transition is going well despite experiencing a small uptick in insurers rejecting providers’ ICD-10 claims, according to Health Data Management.

Here are four takeaways:

1. During the first 12 days of the new code set, Denver-based TriZetto had 10,000 denials. The vendor later stated the denials were not only attributed to coding errors.

2. Paul Kaiser, senior vice president of TriZetto’s provider business unit, stated the increase in denials “are just a bubble” and will go down in the coming months.

3. The payer vendor predicts all claims received will be ICD-10 by mid-to-late November.

4. Mr. Kaiser believes rejection rates are currently at a reasonable level, partly because most of the healthcare industry was prepared for ICD-10.
