Ophthalmologist Dr. George Primbs Recognized for Community Service

Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon George Primbs, MD, has received the W.D. Sansum Award for distinguished service to the community, according to a Noozhawk report.

Dr. Primbs provides free care for underserved patients with diabetes at the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute in Santa Barbara, Calif. He has conducted extensive research on diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Primbs has an ophthalmology degree from UCLA hospital, and served as an eye surgeon in the U.S. Air Force.
