Florida’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Ranked No. 1 for Ophthalmology

Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Florida was ranked No. 1 for ophthalmology by US News & World Report.

This marks the 10th year in a row the practice has earned the top spot. The ophthalmology specialty in hospitals is ranked based on reputation, and physicians are surveyed as to which hospital they would consider best for difficult procedures. Bascom Palmer was named in 66.5 percent of surveys.

Other top hospitals ranked in the top five were Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and Jules Stein Eye Institute at the UCLA Medical Center.
