East & West Coast Centers Acquire Sony’s 3-D Imaging for Ophthalmic Surgery

Eye Institute of Utah in Salt Lake City and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary have acquired Sony Electronics‘ end-to-end 3-D imaging solution for ophthalmic surgery.

Robert Cionni, MD, cataract surgeon, will use the 3-D camera system at Eye Institute of Utah. Richard Mackool, MD, senior attending surgeon at New York Eye and Ear Institute and director of Mackool Eye Institute and Laser Center, will use the camera.

The Sony Electronics device is a medical-grade 3-D camera system designed to take and display video in the operating room during ophthalmological and neurosurgical procedures.
