Study Examines How Macular Degeneration Genes Relate to Therapy Response

Eight hundred thirty-four of 1,149 patients included in the Comparison of AMD Treatments Trials were included in a clinical trial to determine the pharmacogenetic relationship between genotypes associated with macular degeneration and the response of these genotypes frequencies to various therapies at one year, according to the AAO Journal article.

No significant evidence was found to suggest that the various clinical measures used in the trial would elicit differences in reaction by genotype.
