Dr. Byron died this past weekend in his home in Manhattan, N.Y. He was 82.
Dr. Byron may be best known for his refinement of the implantation of intraocular lenses, according to the report. He had his office in Englewood, N.J., and saw patients at Essex Eye Center in Bloomfield, N.J., and Englewood Hospital.
Dr. Byron was also the founder of the journal Ophthalmology Management.
