Ophthalmologist Dr. James Roncie Duke Dead at 88

Ophthalmologist James Roncie Duke, MD, has died, according to a Baltimore Sun report.

Dr. Duke died Oct. 16 in Baltimore. He was 88.

 

Dr. Duke received his MD at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He trained in a pathology program at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and then returned to Johns Hopkins for a residency at the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute.

 

He served as head of the ophthalmic pathology laboratory at Johns Hopkins and later opened a private practice in Baltimore. Dr. Duke retired from the practice in 1982.
