The VisuMax laser is used to create the corneal flap, the first step of a LASIK procedure. Christenbury Eye Center is one of only two providers on the East Coast with the technology, according to the release.
“I have performed all laser LASIK since 2002, which is safer,” said Jonathan D. Christenbury, MD, medical director of Christenbury Eye Center,” in the release. “The addition of VisuMax to our Wavefront Custom LASIK procedure allows us to reduce the procedure time for the patient while providing more accuracy. The VisuMax is almost 10 times faster than prior lasers and uses one tenth the energy, which allows quicker vision recovery. Our results for VisuMax are greater than expected and patients tell us they don’t feel a thing.”
Dr. Christenbury established Christenbury Eye Center in 1987.
