Ophthalmologist Dr. Jayakrishna Ambati Elected Member of International Retina Society

Ophthalmologist Jayakrishna Ambati, MD, has been elected into the membership of Club Jules Gonin, according to a news release.

Club Jules Gonin is regarded as the most exclusive international society of retina physicians and surgeons, according to the release.

 

Dr. Ambati is professor of physiology and professor and vice chair of the department of ophthalmology and visual sciences at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He holds the Dr. E. Vernon Smith & Eloise C. Smith endowed chair in macular degeneration research.

 

Club Jules Gonin has about 270 members from 43 countries. Dr. Ambati was inducted to the club at its recent biennial meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland.
