NVISION has previously offered the cataract surgery, but only at its Orange County and Inland Empire locations.

“Laser refractive cataract surgery, with the Alcon LenSx laser, differs from the traditional cataract surgery in that all the incisions are made using a precise laser guided by a real-time computer imaging system,” said Dr. Mihir Parikh with NVISION Laser Eye Centers, La Jolla, in the release. “With traditional cataract surgery, micro incisions are created using a bladed tool and a needle. The combination of LenSx and Wave Tec ORA allows an experienced surgeon to further improve the refractive outcomes. Over 90 percent of patients can see well without glasses using the combination of these two technologies.”

Dr. Parikh will perform the laser refractive cataract surgeries at the surgery center.
