Evangelical Hospital adds new addition — 4 key facts

Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, Pa., opened up a new patient-oriented addition, according to a report Sept. 29 from ABC affiliate WNEF 16

Here are key facts:

  1. The facility includes an infusion center, intermediate care unit and orthopedic unit.
  2. The facility has 88 private single rooms.
  3. Patients are expected to start moving into the new addition Oct. 3.
  4. The addition is part of a project called P.R.I.M.E., short for patient room improvement, modernization and enhancement. The second part of the project is expected to be finished in June 2022 and will convert the old orthopedics unit into an intensive care unit.

"I think when you go to the rooms, you see spaces that delineate between the caregiver, the patient and the family," Kendra Aucker, president and CEO of Evangelical Community Hospital, told WNEF. "We tried to look at it from every angle."
