Virginia Patient Safety Summit holds 5th annual meeting: 5 notes

Virginia Patient Safety Summit is hosting its 5th annual meeting in Richmond this week, according to Inside Business.

Here are five notes:

1. Providers, clinicians and other healthcare leaders are attending the event to discuss patient quality and safety.

2. Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association President and CEO Sean T. Connaughton and Virginia Health and Human Resources Secretary William A. Hazel Jr., MD, will present at the meeting.

3. Alicia Cole, a television actress and survivor of a flesh eating bacterial infection, Necrotizing fasciitis, will speak at the event.

4. VHHA’s Virginia Hospital Research & Education Foundation, VHHA’s Center for Healthcare Excellence, the Medical Society of Virginia and Inova Health System are sponsoring the event.

5. VHHA is an alliance between 107 hospitals and 30 health delivery systems.
