The report’s data was collected from 1,664 ASCs (1,023 multispecialty and 641 single-specialty) in every state except Vermont from Jan. 1 through March 31. Organizations such as the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America, Westchester, Ill.-based Regent Surgical Health and Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates agreed to collect and submit data.
The rate of incidents is calculated per 1,000 ASC admissions.
