New York ASC observes ‘time out’ for patient safety

Nurses at the Geneseo, N.Y.-based Noyes Health Ambulatory Surgery Center took part in the Association for periOperative Registered Nurses “National Time Out Day” June 12 for surgical safety, according to the Livingston County News.

1. The “time out” initiative encourages nurses to take a moment before surgery to prevent wrong-patient, wrong-procedure and wrong-site procedures.

2. Physicians at the Noyes Health Ambulatory Surgery Center specialize in orthopedics, ophthalmology and gastroenterology, among other areas of expertise.

3. The ASC is affiliated with the Dansville, N.Y.-based Noyes Memorial Hospital.
