Champion Medical signed an agreement with Novation for medical device management with integrated RFID storage technology.

Here are five things to know:

1. UDItracker, a tissue and medical device management system leveraging RFID technology, is now available to Novation members for improving regulatory compliance, increasing patient safety and lowering costs.

2. The system can track tissue, orthopedic, spinal and cardiac implants in the operating room, cardiac interventional suites and inventory.

3. The system can be helpful during device recall investigations.

4. The technology also works to track unique device identifiers through the entire hospital chain.

5. Novation has more than 100,000 members across the country.
