The program will apply to surgeries performed in inpatient, hospital-based outpatientand ambulatory surgery settings. It will address a number of issues related to total joint replacements, including methods of communication during transitions of care and the use of assessment protocols.
The Joint Commission is also seeking input on the program. Comments will be gathered from April 7 to May 19.
