The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services updated their 2014 electronic clinical quality measures, with 29 new measures for eligible hospitals and 64 for eligible professionals, reports HealthDataManagement.com.

Here are four notes:

1. The new measures are for providers to report 2016 quality data for various CMS quality reporting programs.

2. All EH measures are episode-of-care measures, according to Health Data Management whereas only 8 the eCQMs for EP are patient-based measures.

3. “CMS will accept all versions of the CQMs through attestation, beginning with those finalized in the December 4, 2012 CMS-ONC Interim Final Rule,” says the CMS website.

4. For eReporting, a professional must use “the version of the eCQMs identified for each program year below,” and those can be found here, at CMS’ website.
