Here are six other findings:

1. Seventy percent of males and 58 percent of females believe government regulations are the main driver of product recalls.

2. Sixty-five percent of people surveyed didn’t respond to a recall because they forgot or didn’t have time to respond.

3. Fifty-nine percent of Americans wouldn’t be discouraged from purchasing a product again due to a product recall.

4. Email is the preferred recall notification method for 43 percent of Americans. Twenty-nine percent prefer to be notified by mail.

5. Texting was the third most popular recall notification preference, which was preferred by 19 percent of respondents. However, 27 percent of millennials selected texting, making it the No. 2 notification choice for that group.

6. To monitor and manage recalls of products they use, 64 percent of respondents would “likely” download and take advantage of a mobile app.
